3 Questions for Independence Day politicians

July 2, 2014

The Fourth of July brings fireworks, flags, fun and food. It also brings out all those politicians currying your favor. Most of them are just the opening act for the fireworks, but occasionally they take questions or at least mingle after the speechifying.

Since this day is about having the freedom to speak your mind, among others, try starting a civil discussion (not a riot!) with one of these three questions.

1. Some reports put the United States 34th on a list of how free people feel in their country. What are you going to do to make us number one on that list?

2. Do you have any solutions to prevent partisan politics from interfering with our freedoms?

3. What is more important to you, re-establishing the nation as the caretaker of individual freedom, or pushing your party’s political platform?

You are free to think of any other questions that address our right to think for ourselves, work for ourselves, succeed for ourselves, and speak for ourselves.

Whatever important rights you feel you are losing or have lost, there is no better time to challenge the political animal in front of you than Independence Day. Do it now, while you still can.
