Not all the whackos are on the left.

July 18, 2016

What part of “it ain’t gonna happen” is it that Ken Cuccinelli, Kendal Unruh and the rest of their ultra-far right group doesn’t understand?

We get it. You don’t like Trump. Perhaps you should join the rest of the folks that feel that way and apply for Canadian citizenship.

Since this is the U.S. of A. you are absolutely allowed to crusade against the GOP nominee.

Just who would you coronate in his place?

Ted Cruz?

The senator from Texas gave it his best shot. In case no one has noticed, he didn’t get enough votes.

Historians will dissect the 2016 race until the pieces are too small to be seen by anything other than an electron microscope.

That’s in the future.

For right now, the country has made its choice. The candidates are set, from parties large and small.

If your guy isn’t the one today, that’s life.

For right now, the question is, does the country go full-on socialist, or should it try to claw its way back to being an actual representational democracy?

Let’s not forget, the opposition is running a candidate that has some pretty questionable moral values and cultivates some strange alliances.

See, that’s the thing.  In democracies, sometimes you don’t win. The only thing you are guaranteed is the right to throw your hat in the ring.

You don’t have to vote for Donald Trump. Again, that’s your right.

Time will tell whether he was the right person, in the right place, at the right time. If he isn’t, you can run on that next time.

Your guy can try again in four years. It might be nice in the meantime  if he and his backers showed enough class and respect for the country to consider the importance of the larger issues at hand.
