TGIF – March 22, 2019

March 22, 2019

675 days and no longer counting.

What’s the line – breaking news changes everything?

We were literally one spell check away from hitting publish on this post when the news broke that the Mueller investigation is over.

Of course no one besides William Barr and a few other DOJ people have seen the report yet, but one thing has been published for public consumption.  There are no further indictments coming from the Mueller investigation.

So what do Democrats do now?

Early public comments and tweets suggest that they will continue to pursue their vendetta, even seemingly willing to beat up on Mueller and Barr because they didn’t get their desired result from the report.

We caution them against that if they want to have a shot at winning in 2020.

Continuing to work against the President now becomes much more like sedition than just speculating about “Russian collusion.”

There never was any doubt about Russia seeking to meddle in the 2016 (and 2018) election. That’s what they do. It’s in their DNA.

But continuing to claim they have “evidence” of Trump’s connection to that, as has Adam Schiff, will now be seen for what it is.

And that is the sour grapes of a few members of the party who thought they were sitting in the catbird seat to turn the USA into a socialist nation.

Obviously we don’t know what we don’t know about the report.

What we do know is that Democrats would do well to note that they are now in the crosshairs of public opinion.

It would be almost poetic justice if they fail to recognize that.
